Frontier® Psyllium, also known as blonde psyllium, is a low-growing herb native to Iran, Pakistan and India. It is the main ingredient in the commercial dietary supplements "Metamucil" and "Citrucel." Psyllium is most commonly known and used for its high mucilage content. Our bulk whole psyllium husk is kosher certified and non-irradiated.
QUALITY HERB - Frontier Co-op Organic Psyllium Husk (Plantago ovata) is a gluten-free herb that is mostly used in baked goods, creams, and soups. It has glue-like properties that helps foods and ingredients stick together.
SOLID INGREDIENT - Psyllium husk is an active ingredient that swells when mixed with fluids. It is used in water, fruit juice, stews, soups, pureed vegetables, and even baked goods to improve texture.

Choking - Taking this product without adequate fluid may cause it to swell and block your throat or esophagus and may cause choking. Do not take this product if you have difficulty in swallowing. If you experience chest pain, vomiting, or difficulty in swallowing or breathing after taking this product, seek immediate medical attention. Take with at least 8 ounces of liquid.
Safety Guideline: Contraindicated in bowel obstruction, esophageal stenosis, and abnormal intestinal narrowing. Other drugs should be taken 1 hour prior to consumption of psyllium or several hours after consumption.
